Can You Overdo Meditation?
‘Meditation’ is a generic word like ‘Exercise’. And one can definitely overdo it, or should I say not deal with the amount of it properly. To give an analogy, and for ease of understanding I classify meditations in following three main types depending on their effects and experience on the meditator’s nervous system:
“Spa” meditations
“Gym” meditations
“Operation” Theatre meditations
As all meditations bring a change in the nervous system we could say that mediation is an exercise of the mind. And just like physical exercise, its effect could be varied. At higher consciousness, a little is much and if one doesn’t rest enough after their meditation experience they might experience dizziness, feelings of spaciness, lack of focus, too much mental activity or fuzzy brain. All of these are indications that the nervous system needs more quality rest. For example, one goes to the operation theatre and comes out and straightaway tries to go dancing or swimming.
Only Reiki has that capacity to calibrate each experience to the needs of the meditator in that exact moment in time according to their existing nervous system capacity. Still one must allow ample rest after Reiki just like one would allow rest after the gym or a visit to the operation theatre.
