What Happens When You Don't Follow Your Passion?

Slavery was officially abolished a long time ago, but still too many people today are stuck in jobs that they don’t like.

Many have lost hope to have meaningful work in life. What happens when we don’t follow our passion? When we don’t follow our passions we run into an energy deficit. The deficit creates a demand for more support - no wonder we tend to eat more comfort foods and sleep more yet feel down and lethargic. Many of us become less physically active when feeling stressed. We want to talk to people who can encourage and comfort us. All these are examples of extra support we crave due to the energy deficit created in our systems.

We run into an energy deficit when we don’t follow our passions.

When we don’t follow our true calling and our passions, it creates a hole at the bottom of the vessel of our being through which our life energy starts draining very fast. No matter how much we engage in self-care and try to replenish the energy through various means, it never feels enough. Because of the hole at the bottom, we keep losing vital energy. When we don’t follow our passions, we get disconnected from the source of energy and our vitality goes down as a natural result.

When this cycle goes on for a while, we tend to start blaming ourselves.

When this cycle goes on for a while, we tend to start blaming ourselves. We think there must be something wrong with us. But there is nothing wrong with us, it is just the hole through which we are constantly losing energy that needs to be filled.

So it is vitally important to follow your passion.
